A pandemic continues to grip the world. This was my third month in our new house in Pasir Ris. Home is where everything is right now. Meals, workouts, and work. I have no plans to change any of that until this pandemic is over.
The past month also saw some triumphs. Biden beat Trump and is the President-elect. I published my first interview with a journalist. I completed workout sessions and yoga practices.
I’ll leave the rest in pictures.
Housemate Ryan’s Birthday. This is our Pasir Ris household in November 2020. Training with Coach Nolan. These are the people I have my evening workouts with. BL or Boy Love has taken off in 2020. This was my least favourite though. I got to take part in a Trivia Night as hosted by the Singapore Press Club. We were in the top 7. To drive the point that I’ve been working out consistently. Here’s another Zoom screenshot. Ordering in delivery has been the norm in 2020. We get to try new restaurants too. This one is called “Mom’s Touch” and one of their oddly-named food items is called “Mom’s Thigh” which is like WTH. We don’t just get food delivered. The novelty of having your groceries delivered is now the norm. Plus, I’ve been trying out these Japanese beers. This pack of 24 cans comes with these cute wooden bowls. A monthsary with PJ at Tampines 1. This was on the same day that a COVID-19 case had dined at a restaurant in nearby Tampines Mall. That case was the first locally-transmitted case in over two weeks. Cases have fallen dramatically in November. Showing off the Christmas tree in one of our Zoom workout attendance photos. This is how my workout space looks like on six out of seven evenings each week. Our friends had a boodle fight at our house in November. Of course, we followed the rules which is to only have a maximum of five guests each instance. I love boodle fights. This is how my weeknight workout looks like on my Prism+ curved screen. You can also notice how I split the screen so I can see the actual WOD (workout of the day) and a TextEdit file to serve as my whiteboard as I count how many reps and sets I can do. PJ got his hands on an iPad Air recently in a nice blue colour. Also happening is a podcast series I’m hoping to launch soon. Earlier in November, I experienced Kylie Minogue’s “Infinite Disco” virtual concert together with the Wines & Titas. That meant giving the room a “Disco” glow. I loved Kylie’s virtual concert! I also loved this circus. When Biden won the 2020 elections (ending the Trump Era, at least for now)… I couldn’t help but treat my housemates to pizza. I think elections and pizza go together. My first interview with a journalist got published. I’m really enjoying what I get to do these days which is to work with journalists in the Philippines and help connect them with PR professionals Another birthday… this time Ana Paula’s. Our house is lovely for parties. This cheese board was made by Haikel’s wife. The truffle cheese… I was obsessed with it. I also got to catch up with Paul and Joanna in Katong. Joanna has moved to Katong. The magic numbers. I’d leave the house for basic things like to do groceries or to get a haircut. I get my haircuts now at the K-Cut outlet at Pasir Ris Sports Centre. It’s a nice 10 minute walk from our condo. I’m enjoying these classes. It makes up the social part of my day. Further back in the early part of November… watching the US Elections unfold was stressful. Some of the participants in the Zoom class come from as far as Belgium! The headline that won my heart in November 2020.
There is hope.
